Solid introduction to the Oresteia. Goldhill provides a (very) little social context, and a nice run down of the plays’ important themes. I think he could have provided more information on the background stories; there’s not much here about what happens in the Iliad, or about Thyestes’ Feast, or any of that stuff. This is a study book about the Oresteia, about Aeschylus. It´s some kind of analysis of the Oresteia. You will learn a lot about Gree culture of 5th century b.c. I really liked it. Since I like to read and learn about anciennt Greece. It also helped me to undestand much better the beggining of tragedy. Alejandro Brand rated it: 3.0 from 5.0
